Sliding ceiling door system
A sliding ceiling door system is the most common suspension system for sliding doors. As the name suggests, this system is simply attached to the ceiling. A great example of such a system is the Lite+ track system in the standard version. It can simply be screwed to the ceiling. If the rail is concealed behind a cove, you can choose a suspension system that is mounted on top of the sliding door (Superior). The Lite+ rail is so beautifully designed that concealment is actually not necessary, but you want the gap between the rail and the top of the sliding door to be as small as possible. For that purpose is suspension system Retrac, where the bracket enters the door panel.
Another example is the SLID150, which can support door panels weighing up to 150 kilograms. This makes rail system SLID150 ideal for carrying large heavy sliding doors. Great if you have a high ceiling, for example, but would like a ceiling-high sliding door that is solid or made of steel. The standard version of this sliding door track can be mounted just as easily as the somewhat narrower Lite+ for sliding doors up to 100 Kg.
Can be used in different ways
The ceiling track systems can be used in several ways. For example, the track can be used for a single sliding door or a double sliding door. Or sliding doors that slide past each other. In addition, a folding wall can be created with a sliding door track on the ceiling or an extra large opening by attaching 2 track systems at an angle to the ceiling. The possibilities are endless.
Ceiling-mounted track system for glass doors
A sliding door track with ceiling mounting is also possible for glass. Very stylish, for example, is the glass clamp set of the previously mentioned Lite+ rail, where the glass clamps themselves are concealed in a beautiful frame that comes directly under the rail. Even more minimalist is when the glass clamps can be concealed in the rail, as in the case of sliding door system UnikGlass+ by KLEIN-Europe®. Incidentally, this manufacturer also has beautiful ceiling systems where you slide a sliding glass door in front of a fixed glass panel!
Sliding door system in a suspended ceiling?
If you prefer the least possible disruption to your ceiling, there are also sliding door systems that can be concealed in suspended ceilings.
The most popular rail system for in a suspended ceiling is the Lite+ Top rail. Both sides of the rail are folded over, creating a profile on which the ceiling tiles can be simply laid. The Lite+Top rail comes standard in silver, but is also available in black.
However, it can be even more minimalist! Sliding door system Lite+ T is the narrowest track system for suspended ceilings currently available. The track has a special profile, which means that the ceiling tiles are not fixed on, but against the track. So when everything is finished, all you see is a thin line in the ceiling. This ultra minimalist system is available for both wooden and glass sliding doors.
Recessed system for the ceiling
If you want a sliding door up to the ceiling that slides into the wall, you can make it with a loose track system on the ceiling, but a ready-made recessed system works a lot easier! Our Italian manufacturer Ermetika has released a special version of the Absolute Evo recessed system, which can be concealed in a suspended ceiling. The system has an integrated door post and is finished completely flush with the wall.
Ceiling system for hinged interior doors
Don't have a wall that a sliding door can slide into or in front of, but want an interior door that is ceiling high? The Absolute Swing Full Height system offers the solution! You don't even need a suspended ceiling. The system consists of a hidden frame that is completely concealed in the wall. There is no transverse construction at the top, so you can really run the door up to the ceiling. Thanks to the hidden hinges that come in the invisible frame and the door, the whole integrates completely into the wall. As a result, the Absolute Swing can be beautifully combined with the Absolute sliding door systems.
