Sliding door systems suitable for socket

A socket, thermostat, light switch or even a lamp in the place where you want a sliding door to slide into the wall? It is possible with a sliding door system that is suitable for the socket.

Which built-in sliding door systems suitable for sockets are there?

Ermetika has two types of built-in sliding door systems that are suitable for the socket: Luminox and Absolute Energy. These systems both have a ready-to-use cassette with a space on both sides with two empty corrugated pipes for electrical wiring. With these systems you can choose the height at which you want to place the electrical appliances and/or sockets.

In addition to the sliding door systems that are suitable for installation in a wall finished with plasterboard, a sliding door system suitable for a socket is also available with a mesh net over the cassette. In this way, the built-in cassette can be plastered flush with the stone wall.

How do you place the sliding door system suitable for a socket?

The built-in frame is equipped with two sockets, each with three units, and with two pre-assembled corrugated pipes with a diameter of 50 mm. There is an earthing for the electricity on both sides of the frame. The sliding door hangs in the frame and is held in place at the bottom by a floor guide that can be placed invisibly. So there is no rail on the ground. Thanks to the superior technology of the frame and the suspension system with self-lubricating bearings, the sliding door will slide open and closed smoothly and silently for many years to come.

The difference between Luminox and Absolute Energy sliding door systems

After installation, the Luminox systems are finished with a separate door frame and a frame around the door opening. The Absolute Energy systems have an integrated door frame and are plastered flush with the wall. As a result, the wall is not interrupted by a door frame.

The advantage of the Absolute Energy sliding door system suitable for a socket is that the door can still be easily removed from the cassette after installation. This is also possible with the Luminox sliding door system, only then a part must first be removed from the door frame and architrave. You can easily take this into account when installing the Luminox sliding door system by using screws for the top of the door frame and architrave instead of gluing them.

Double sliding door systems suitable for socket

In addition to the built-in cassettes for single doors, the Luminox and Absolute Energy sliding door systems are also available for double sliding doors that slide towards each other. These systems are also referred to as the Luminox Doppio and the Absolute Energy Doppio.

These systems consist of two built-in cassettes that are placed opposite each other. The cassettes are then connected to each other via a special connecting piece. This allows you to create a beautiful en suite effect, where you can place lamps on both sides of the doorway.

What is the correct finished wall thickness?

Due to the integrated space for electrical wiring, the finished wall thickness is 180 mm. That is therefore somewhat thicker than the standard built-in sliding door systems. The standard for this is often 100 mm or 125 mm.

BestFix saving tip: If you only need a light switch where the cassette is in the wall, a bluetooth light switch can be a solution. Such switches are glued to the wall and communicate via Bluetooth with the relevant lamp(s). In this way, the wall can be kept thin and you still have the convenience of the switch in the desired location. People often use a bluetooth light switch in combination with the affordable do-it-yourself built-in systems.
